About Rice To Meet You

Rice To Meet You was born from a simple idea: paella is better when you understand it, cook it, and share it.

What started as a project between two partners with a background in hospitality has become a space with its own identity in the Raval neighbourhood of Barcelona — a place where rice takes centre stage and every detail is designed to make the experience feel genuinely authentic.

How the project began

In June 2025 we started the preparation phase. Four months of cooking stocks, fumet, paellas and rice dishes. Testing variations. Adjusting. Discarding what did not convince us and keeping what did.

We were looking for our own flavour — not a generic paella, but a paella with its own criteria and identity. One of the decisions that defined that process was incorporating salmorreta alicantina as a base. It adds greater depth to the flavour and a character that is difficult to replicate.

We opened in january 2026 with the conviction that something artisanal and authentic had a place in Barcelona.

How we do things

From day one, we decided that everything would be homemade. Not as a marketing claim, but as a genuine mark of identity.

We make our own stocks here. Our own fumet. We knead and bake the bread in the restaurant every day. We make the mayonnaise ourselves. If something requires a preparation, we do it ourselves.

We want to use quality ingredients — and we want it to show. Not in the price, but in the flavour and in the honesty of what we put on the plate.

That also sets us apart from the mass tourist offering that exists in Barcelona. We are not looking for volume. We are looking for people to leave with something real.

  • Paella workshops. Our main experience. Each participant cooks their own paella from start to finish, guided step by step. Small groups, a friendly atmosphere, a real result.

  • Rice & Tapas restaurant. Friday to Sunday, we open for lunch. A menu of rice dishes, tapas and Spanish omelettes. No rush, quality ingredients.

  • Private events and team building. Corporate groups, celebrations and personalised experiences. Cooking as an excuse to connect for real.
