Why a cooking team building actually works

No forced dynamics. No awkward games. No performing. Just people doing something together. And that changes the mood. In our kitchen, things happen that don't happen in a meeting room: someone takes the lead, someone steps back, someone listens. No pressure, no script, all of it natural. This doesn't replace leadership training, but it does offer a real setting for the team to interact outside its usual routines. At RTMY we use cooking as the excuse. What happens around it is what stays with people.

Three formats, built around your team

Every team is different. Some need to reconnect. Others want to activate and compete. Others simply deserve something special. That's why there are three formats — or let us recommend the right one for you.

Team cooking their paella in a relaxed atmosphere during a Team Flow team building in Barcelona

Team Flow

Cook together. Connect naturally.
Relaxed · Natural · Human

Everything starts simply. Teams form, the kitchen fires up, and almost without realising it, the atmosphere shifts. Everyone finds their place without anyone imposing it: someone organises, someone executes, someone watches, someone helps. When the pace slows and the moment to sit down arrives, something unplanned is left behind: the feeling of having worked well as a team.

Paella Challenge

Cook. Compete. Celebrate.
Energy · Fun · Pride

Here the energy shifts. It's no longer just cooking: it's deciding, adapting, reacting. The team activates, organises, challenges itself, laughs, competes. There's tension — but the good kind. When it's all over comes the key moment: defending what they've made, comparing results. Yes, there's a winning team. But what everyone takes home is much more than that.

Experience Dinner

Cook. Share. Slow down.
Closeness · Calm · Connection

Here everything changes pace. You notice it from the start: the light, the music, the atmosphere. There's cooking, yes, but without the rush. Conversations start earlier, and so does the laughter. When the moment to sit down arrives, it's no longer an activity — it's a dinner, a real pause, a space the team lives together. No script, no tension.

The process

How it works. No complications.

01

Tell us what you need

Team size, date, goal. A 15-minute call is enough.

02

We propose the format

Or adapt it if your group has specific needs.

03

We confirm and coordinate

We take care of everything. You just have to show up.

04

The experience

Between 2.5 and 3.5 hours in which the team gets involved, loosens up... and enjoys itself.

05

The memory

A photo, a recipe... and something much harder to explain.

Before you book your team building

What makes this different from a traditional team building activity?
There are no forced dynamics or artificial activities. The interaction happens naturally while the team cooks, decides and collaborates in real time.
Do participants need to know how to cook?
No. The experience is designed for people with no previous experience — anyone can join in from the first moment.
In which language does the activity run?
In Spanish and English (other languages on request).
Can the experience be adapted to specific team goals?
Yes. We adjust the dynamic, narrative and pace to what you're after. The activity encourages collaboration and coordination in a setting away from the office — without promising training outcomes.
What exactly does the experience include?
Ingredients and materials, a guided dynamic, drinks, a full tasting, and format-specific elements (wine pairing, diplomas, etc.).
Can it run at lunchtime or in the evening?
Yes. We run midday slots (1:00–4:00 pm) as well as evening/night slots.
Can you come to our offices or an external venue?
Only in very specific cases: the experience needs a particular setup, and not every venue can meet it. We assess it case by case.
What if participants have allergies or dietary restrictions?
We adapt the menu at no extra cost if we're told in advance.
Can we personalise the experience with our company branding?
Yes: personalised aprons, diplomas, visual elements, and your brand worked into the dynamic itself.
How is the group organised during the activity?
Usually in teams of 2 to 4 people, to encourage real interaction and active participation.
What kind of paella do you cook?
Mainly seafood paella, with a vegetarian option or other variants depending on your needs.
Is there a competitive element?
Only in the Paella Challenge format, which includes a final evaluation and team dynamic.
What's the booking process?
You get in touch, we define the format and date, and confirm with a 30 % deposit — the final payment is due up to 72 hours before the event.
Do prices include VAT? Can you invoice our company?
Yes. All prices we quote include VAT, and we issue invoices to the company.
What if we need to change the date, can't attend, or the number of attendees changes?
Date changes are agreed with a minimum of 48 hours' notice. In case of a no-show, there's no refund — rescheduling is always preferable. If the number of attendees changes, the initial budget is adjusted to the real number on the day of the event.
How long is the quote valid for?
The quote we send you is valid for 20 days from the date it's issued. After that, we can review it based on date availability and current conditions.
Is the event private? Do we get the whole venue?
Yes. Every team building privatises the venue for the session — you don't share the space with other tables. There's no minimum number of people: each format has a minimum price that covers privatising the session.

Tell us about your team

It's not about cooking a paella. It's about what happens while you make it: how your team relates, how it loosens up, how it enjoys itself, and what it takes away afterwards. If you're looking for just another activity, there are plenty of options. If you're looking for an experience that really works, let's talk.
