Leo Pavanetto
Journalist, partner at Rice to Meet You, and the one running the kitchen.
Leo Pavanetto writes the recipes at Rice to Meet You and runs the kitchen in El Raval. The broths, the stocks, the sauces and the bread are all made here every day, dish by dish.
He trained as a journalist and worked at the newspaper La Capital in Rosario, Argentina. He has spent twenty-five years in hospitality in Spain, as a director and area manager, in both family businesses and multinationals.
For the last five years he has been training as a cook, and the last of those specialising in rice. He is the one who landed on Alicante salmorreta as the base of the house flavour, after four months of testing broths, fumets and rice dishes, before opening in January 2026.
He writes here about what he cooks every day: rice technique, produce, and the Barcelona around El Raval.
